Doctor Who

The worst moment for me personally was the moment Eleven decided to take the option of killing the star whale by making it essentially brain dead because it seemed so OUT OF CHARACTER for the Doctor to just give up that easily. The only purpose that part seem to serve was to give Amy a shining moment because she figured out the star whale had wanted to help them instead of being made haul around Starship UK. I also have to admit the parallel Amy drew between the star whale and the Doctor was lovely too but I'm afraid even it doesn't do enough to save this episode for me.
I did have a moment of amusement at the beginning hearing Eleven lie through his teeth about not interfering with the people or events they find themselves in. It's a HUGE LIE on so many levels because the Doctor has never been about non-interference in whatever is going on plus isn't that one of the reasons he left Gallifrey to begin with was because he couldn't stand the Time Lords' policy of non interference with the affairs of the lesser races?
Oh and I hate to say this but Amy sounded more Irish than Scottish to me tonight which isn't bad as I love Irish but I know I read somewhere she's supposed to be Scottish so I was expecting an accent that sounded more like Scottish than Irish!
